Athena Aronson

Athena and Brandon Aronson

Athena Aronson has been involved with volleyball for the last 30 years. In high school, she played for nationally recognized Munciana Volleyball Club, where her team won the Junior Olympic National Championships for the 16’s Open. From there, she played college ball at Liberty University where she was a 4 year starter for the program. That Liberty team won 2 Big South Championships and made two trips to the NCAA DIV 1 Tournament. After graduating, Athena coached Varsity high school volleyball for 7 years at Brookville High School. In her second year, she reversed the team’s 4-20 record to 20-4. Subsequently, in those 7 years, her teams won 4 consecutive District Championships (with a 62-0 district record), 1 Regional Championship, and made 3 consecutive State Final Four appearances. The program produced 4 different consecutive players of the year.  Since then, she has coached numerous travel teams and continues to do private training for many athletes.  Her coaching style focuses on the detailed fundamentals of footwork and movement which makes a player efficient and intelligent.

Most of the time you will find Athena coaching with her husband Brandon, who has been coaching with her for the past 20 years.  Brandon grew up in South Florida playing beach and indoor volleyball.  He was a Liberty University manager for several years and assistant coach for 1 year.  They have 6 boys; Jaxon, Bodie, Roman, Hagan, Canaan and Memphis.
