About Us
Serving Amherst County, Appomattox County, Bedford County, Campbell County, and Lynchburg
Central Virginia Volleyball, Inc., operates a recreational volleyball program (indoor) for the youths and adults of the region. Youth
registration is open to all interested boys and girls ages 8-19 without regard to financial ability. The youth recreation season begins
in May and extends through mid July of each year. The Board of Directors determines the fee structure for recreation players
and set policies governing the program. The adult recreation program is administered by Lynchburg Parks and Recreation and begins
in November of each year and extends through April of the following year.
Recreation League
Central Virginia Volleyball operates a travel volleyball program for boys' and girls' teams (U-13 through U-19 age groups). This program
was originally founded as Heart of Virginia Volleyball and is hereafter referred to as Heart of Virginia (HOV) Juniors. Teams
participate in the USA Volleyball Old Dominion Region during the winter and spring seasons (December through early June). Tryouts
shall be held annually for these teams. HOV Juniors teams participate in USA tournaments throughout the Old Dominion Region and may
travel to out-of-state tournaments. The CVV Board of Directors shall determine the annual fee structure for travel players and
the policies governing the program. Upon request, financial assistance for fees and equipment is available on a very limited basis.
In
addition, HOV Juniors includes a developmental program during the winter and spring season (December through early June) for youths
in the U10 through U19 age groups . The purpose of the developmental program is to focus on the technical development of youth
players between U-10 and U-19 through the use of highly qualified coaching and a series of training sessions. If there is enough interest,
tournament teams may be formed at the end of the season and they may participate in at least one out-of-tournament. The developmental
program is open to all youths in the region. The purpose of the developmental program is to prepare youth recreation players
for the HOV Juniors travel division.
HOV Juniors and The Developmental Program
Central Virginia Volleyball, Inc was formed in November 2003 and is a non-profit 501c(3) corporation serving the Lynchburg area.
